My last wedding of 2013 was a gorgeous Autumn wedding at the Cincinnati Nature Center in Milford, OH. Josh and Amberly are such an awesome couple, and it was my honor to photograph their very important day. They also chose my husband as their DJ and Sarah Crain as the Hair and Makeup Artist for the bridal party! 😀

Because I am going to be offering boudoir to clients, I wanted to work with one of my favorite models to establish my style of boudoir photography. I have decided on something raw, natural, and moody — coming to the client’s home (with my trusty hair and makeup artist, of course) and capturing the subject where she is most comfortable. Natural, classy, and of course sexy boudoir.

Not all images from this set are being published, as we’re reserving some for Madeline’s upcoming calendar. 🙂

This was a two-part shoot!

Part I was my very first *planned* shoot with my strobe. We did a Jessica Rabbit themed shoot! This is one of my all time faves. The model, Ai Tenshi Misha, made the dress herself, and also did her own hair and makeup (the red was done by me, though, in Photoshop.)

Part II was an outdoor shoot in the rain. We had 3 designs from KMK Designs, so I will show a shot of each beautiful creation here as well!

When my model/friend Madeline Cole won Solis Magazine’s model of the year, the publication contacted me to photograph her for the spread and cover of Issue X! This is my very first cover, hopefully many more to come. 🙂

Awesome wardrobe, hair and makeup provided by Angelo Culvert of Pretty Penguin Studios of Cincinnati, OH.

I had been wanting to collaborate with MUAH Sarah Crain and model Hilly Kenkel on a Marie Antoinette themed shoot since early in the summer, and it finally happened in the Fall! We were originally going to make it a fashion shoot, but decided to make it a beauty themed shoot.

This was my first time using my new Alien Bees 1600 — I didn’t plan to use it, but it started storming and we lost natural light in the studio. I just bounced the strobe on my foam core reflectors to emulate the natural light we had earlier in the shoot. I had never used a studio strobe before, I was a little nervous because I wanted to be better prepared my first time using it!

Photos from this shoot were featured in the November 2013 Beauty Issue of Elegant Magazine! 🙂
