Boudoir Photography

I drove by a very magical location on the way to a Dayton wedding last year, and decided in May of this year to look for that location and do a photo shoot with one of my model friends, Hilly. The idea was to do a shoot based on a ghostly woman, lost in the woods. I couldn’t find the super amazing location I’d driven by last year (either that, or it looked different based on me visiting a few weeks later in the year.) I’m still super happy with the shoot, despite the forest not being the insane shades of purple and pink that I was hoping for ;[

Last spring, due to the recent success of my Winter Boudoir Minis (and also because I really wanted to gather some money for a 5D Mark III) I held a second Mini Marathon and was fully booked again! This time around, most of my beautiful subjects asked not to have their images posted or blogged, but here are some highlights from those who gave me permission to share!

The below images are highlights from my first ever mini session marathon! I couldn’t think of a better, more fun, type of mini session than boudoir 🙂 I absolutely love taking pictures of women feeling and looking their best. All images were taken in my boudoir/glamour studio, in Hamilton, OH. 🙂

I’m currently gearing up for my spring boudoir mini marathon ❤

Hello, all! Just a heads up, there are a LOT of images in this post (and I edited way more than what is shown — these are just highlights!)

I wanted to create a “guide” to provide my clients, specifically with my own photography and within my studio, to help inspire them to find poses or even just a basis of what would look good in an image. I enlisted the assistance of 10 model-friends of mine, each with very unique styles of posing, to help me do just that. The process was rather long — 3 group shoots over the course of a month, not to mention editing and designing the book. I’m well versed in coaching clients on posing, mind you, but I really felt this would amp up every shoot for success even more than ever — and I’m so glad I did it!

All of these images were shot in my studio, in Hamilton OH. I’m very pleased with how the book has turned out, and can’t wait to use it on my next round of boudoir mini marathons (a few weeks away!)

Note: There was no hair & makeup artist for these shoots. Since this was a personal project, and focused more on the “posing” than on the hair and makeup, I had the models show up ready. Well, not dressed in their boudoir gear at the door, but you know. Ha.
